Doodle All Day!

“Doodle All Day” has been such a hit! I am so impressed how far the children have come in just a few weeks. At the beginning of each meeting the children show me new drawings that they have been working on outside of the class. I enjoy seeing their excitement and determination to improve their drawing skills. During each class we spotlight a book and after we explore the story and meet new characters, the children learn how to draw them. For example, last week we learned how to draw “Pigeon” from “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” by Mo Willems. I’m not sure what the kids liked more: reading the story or drawing the pigeon. It’s a toss up! There are so many books out there with great illustrators like Mo Willems. Maybe the next Mo Willems could come from here? The potential for success in the group is endless!

  1. The moon day activities will be going on all day. They will include making an astronaut helmet, interactive computer activities, learning facts about the moon, and a “Color and Learn Space Shuttle” booklet from NASA. The activities are free except for the booklet which will cost $0.82 (tax included) to cover copy charges.

We hope to see you there!
