The 8th Story of Christmas

Counting down with story #8, Ms. Julie read
Little Christmas Star by Janet Palazzo-Craig.

This simple little story is about Sandy the Star who always watched Christmas from high up in the sky. This year, her Christmas wish is to see Christmas up close and to take part in all in the festivities. Her wish is granted as she takes flight in Santa’s sleigh. While traveling through town she dreams of decorating Christmas trees and making special treats. She hears the Christmas bells and carolers singing songs. She enjoys the smiles on children’s faces and in the end, gets to be the shining star on top of the Christmas tree!

What fun we had learning about Sandy the Star and the things she treasures at Christmas. After the story, our guests decorated a tree with die-cut lights, ornaments, and a special Sandy Star on top. You can find a Christmas tree pattern here for your kids to decorate or color at home. Or, you might like to try an activity where the kids can paste the shapes on the tree.
