Doodling Around

The theme in “Doodle All day” was the ocean. My little artists love it when I read a story to them, so today I started off reading the book “I’m the Best Artist in the Ocean” by Kevin Sherry. This is a fun story about a squid who loves to draw and who doesn’t let mean fish get in the way!
Next, I taught the kids how to draw fish (angelfish) and other animals associated with the ocean. I then had the kids create their own under the sea scene using what I taught them. I am always impressed how creative the children are. By the end of class some of the kids had incorporated submarines and pirate ships into their drawings. The children had a great time creating their own under the sea masterpieces!
