At the Purple Cow Bookstore, we have eagerly waited for the release of Shannon & Dean Hale’s latest comic graphic novel, Calamity Jack. Once again, the authors have taken readers on a thrilling adventure, visually completed by the amazing artwork of illustrator, Nathan Hale.
In this second graphic novel by the Hales’, the character of Calamity Jack is a plotter, trickster, swindler, and thief with an incredible amount of bad luck coming his way. When his biggest scheme of all goes terribly awry, Jack hightails it out of town and meets up with a certain spunky girl well known for her long, red braids! Together, Jack and Rapunzel (from Rapunzel’s Revenge), create mischief and commotion as they creatively plot to swindle the evil giants and regain control of the city. Readers will find this adventure hard to put down!
