History in the Making

To help you experience the Inauguration on Jan. 20th the National Children’s Book and Literacy Alliance has put together Our White House Inauguration Celebration Kit for Kids and is available here. They have put together some wonderful resources for parents, teachers and community leaders.

One of the sections is Americans Love a Parade. Did you know that the float created for President Eisenhower was a golf course putting green? For President George Bush the president’s float was an aircraft carrier that actually had one of the planes that he had flown during World War II.
