9th Story of Christmas

Dream Snow by Eric Carle is a story of a farmer who is worried that no snow has fallen and it is almost time for Christmas. He falls asleep for a nap and dreams that snow has fallen only to discover when he wakes up that it actually did snow. Each of his animals is covered in a blanket of snow. As you read the book you turn plastic pages that are covered with snow. Underneath each page is an animal. This is a nice book to read and a pleasant surprise is at the end of the book.

A fun activity to do with this book is to make your own “blanket of snow”. How would you do it? What materials would you use? Part of the fun is seeing what your child can come up with.
